Whenever you're nauseous or sick, it can be hard to eat larger quantities of food. It’s important that the foods you eat provide energy and are nutritious. This can be true if your nausea is caused by a chronic condition and if you’re also struggling to maintain weight.

Bananas are energy-dense, nutritious and easy to have even if you’re feeling sick. It can also help you reduce the potassium that can be lost if you’ve been vomiting.

A medium-sized banana can pack upto 105 calories, and up to 12% of your daily requirement of potassium and 22% of vitamin B6.

Other energy-dense foods include porridge, avocados, mashed potatoes, peanut butter and stewed fruits.
